Dear Members,

Welcome to another season. It is hard to believe that we have been writing these letters for more than 20 years.

The season last year had a pretty good start and middle for us all but had an awful ending. We ended up with almost 8 inches of rain in September and close to 7 inches in October. It didn't make very good golf or maintenance on the course.

With that in mind, some of you will be happy to know that we are going to lower the cut of the roughs to 11/4  in 2009. The mowers are already set for that. We agree that even with mowing twice a week there were times that the roughs were to long. They just grew too fast.

Many of you also noticed that we lowered the cut on the greens last year. We received many favorable comments on them and we will try to improve them even more in the coming year.

You will note that we have not increased membership rates for 2009 from 2006. We have done this in spite of the minimum wage increase and even higher gasoline costs both of which hit us hard. We are certainly hoping Mother Nature is kind to us with regard to the weather and give us a nice long season this year.

    See you in the spring!

Sincerely,

Linda, Becky, John & Wes
